Philadelphia Eagles star running back Saquon Barkley submitted his candidacy for play of the year with his insane reverse hurdle in this past Sunday’s win over the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Unfortunately for him, the NFL league office had a different take on it and wanted to make sure that the athleticism that he displayed was all God-given.
The Philadelphia Eagles running back completed one of the most incredible moves of the NFL season so far, which caused the league to drug test him immediately.
“I got it (the drug test) right away,” Barkley said on Air It Out with AJ Greene & Justin Pugh. “I got drug tested right after the game.”
Although it was a great moment, Saquon Barkley revealed on Air It Out that he’s not looking to recreate the moment anytime soon.
“I don’t know, I kind of don’t want to dub it because I ain’t trying to do that again, to be honest with you,” Barkley said with a laugh around the 10:15 mark.

Barkley also explained his thought process at the moment, saying, “What really happened was I was going to hit a double spin,” Barkley said. “I aborted it. So when I spun, I went to spin again and I just like, it’s probably going to take away from how cool the play is, I really kind of, I thought he was going low. So I was just like it’ll be cool if I just jumped up but my body kind of took over.”
In that game against the Jaguars, Saquon Barkley finished with 159 rushing yards, a touchdown, and three catches for 40 yards and another score to help lead the Eagles to a 28-23 win.
That victory helped the team improve its record to 6-2 and keep pace with the Washington Commanders, who are getting set for a huge matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
Signing With The Eagles Was A Great Career Change For Saquon Barkley
Philadelphia Eagles star running back Saquon Barkley may have been upset that the New York Giants did not see the value in keeping him, but he is likely happy about his move away from them now.
The Giants chose Daniel Jones over him and now they are stuck with his bad play while he continues to flourish with the Eagles.
Through eight games, Barkley has completed 925 yards and six touchdowns on 157 carries. He’s also caught 20 passes for 146 yards and two touchdowns.
He is on tap for an all-time season.
